I have already mentioned a couple of times in this blog that I have a fascination with urban exploring. It's not something I do myself, but is more an armchair hobby.
I was reminded about it after being shown this picture

These mad bastards managed to slip into the closed down hydroelectric plant behind the Niagra falls! here is their story, it makes for a really good read.
When looking through that forum I found many more interesting urban exploration stories, I have picked out a few where the explorers took photos before the local vandals and drug addicts trashed everything:
St Josephs college seminary (beautifully preserved, I especially love the fact that somebody left some taxidermy behind)
Longbridge 1 (Longbridge is a British car manufacturing plant that recently shut down. It looks like the workers just left at the end of a shift and never came back. There are even a few computers left on)
Longbridge 2
Longbridge 3
High Royds Lunatic Asylum (the deserted lunatic asylums are absolutely stunning! I really like the view from the roof of this one)
Hartwood Asylum
Hartlepool Ghosts Ships (seven shades of awesome)
Also a little request, I remember visiting that forum a while ago and reading a story about a couple of guys who used a dinghy to cross the Thames and get into some sort of tunnels underneath Camden, it was really awesome but I can't see it any more. If anybody stumbles over it let me know!
