Alright I've been at work long enough and am going home for Christmas now. I'll be back in the office on 28/29th Dec.
We'll be driving down to see family tomorrow (and then back up here on the 27/28th). I've lost contact with most of my old friends down that way so I'll likely have a disturbing amount of time to work hard on my thesis*. I sometimes find it useful to write down my progress so far, just so I can see that I am indeed making some. For that reason here is a thesis status report:
Chapter 1: Done!
Chapter 2: One section to be written (over christmas break)
Chapter 3: Done!
Chapter 4: Done!
Chapter 5: Assuming all my simulations run cleanly over Christmas there is no more than a week or so work remaining
Chapter 6: Two/three pages remain to be written.
Miscellany: Abstract, clean up appendices.
What is that I see? Light? Coming from the end of the tunnel? I think it might be! There are probably some utterly soul crushing traps lurking in the darkness between here and the finish though.
*In reality this means I'll write a lot of blog posts and probably reply to emails in double quick time.
