My apologies, the blog has taken a path down some dark, morose avenues of late. Perhaps it's a symptom of the drawing in of the evenings... looking out of the window at 3pm and watching the darkening rapidly suck the daylight away must also affect the soul.
It does not do to dwell on this, but I was thinking about the ephemeral nature of our lives - maybe this feeling changes as you get older, but at the moment I can't imagine it ending, and life seems stretched out in front of me. I've got plenty of time to experience the World. Right? Wrong.
It got me thinking - it's reasonably easy to quantify key events that we're likely to experience. How many Summers will we see? (let's say I live to 75... I expect to see only 50 more. Only 50 Summers?! How many of those will be 'good' ones... 50%?). Then there are more infrequent events that can be experienced, but ones that are probably taken for granted. A list I thought of:
And that's my Sunday thought.

- Full moons
- Sunsets
- Sunrises (how often are you up to see the Sun actually rise?)
- Meteor showers
- Camping trips
- Swimming in the sea
- Reading a really good book
And that's my Sunday thought.
