Home Taping is Killing Music

by CMB

Reently I stumbled over a "design your own cassette tape" website (here) and couldn't resist designing a couple of tapes.

My main memories of tapes come from when I was little. Mainly what I remember doing with cassettes is taping computer games over my dad's music, he would get really mad, but I would have a barely functioning copy of Ms. Pac Man.

Also if you bought the really long cassettes, the tape always ended up getting caught in the mechanism of the stereo and crumpled up. Then part of your album always did that really creepy speeding up and slowing down effect. Finally I remember it being great fun to smash a tape in half and wrap people (or other objects) up in it. I'm still amazed at how much plastic tape could fit inside a cassette.

I'm sure others can think up some much better ideas
